Berks History Center invites you, your family, and friends to participate in our Fall 2022 Road Ramble on Saturday, October 22nd! Previous Road Rambles have attracted more than 100 participants. Come join the fun for this full-day multi-generational adventure.
The Road Ramble is a self-guided driving tour which allows the Berks History Center to return to its past when Mystery Road Rambles were held in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The Fall 2022 Road Ramble is particularly special, as it celebrates renowned Berks County historian, Geroge M. Meiser, IX. Mr. Meiser is well-known for his long-running newspaper series, The Passing Scene, which he authored with his wife, Gloria Jean. He also served as President of BHC (then the Historical Society of Berks County) from 1998 until 2011.
Participants will ramble through Leesport, Hamburg, Lenhartsville, Virginville, and Kempton. The route will highlight a blend of historic structures, scenic vistas, and locations associated with local folklore.
The Fall 2022 Road Ramble will run from 10 AM – 4 PM and conclude at the Albany Township Historical Society, where food will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Albany Township Historical Society and Berks History Center. In addition, the Albany Arts Fest will be taking place featuring a number of local artisans selling items such as paintings, pottery, and jewelry.
Tickets for the Fall 2022 Road Ramble cost $35/car for BHC Members and $45/car for non-members and can be purchased online or by calling 610-375-4375 from Wednesday to Saturday, 9 AM – 3 PM. Tickets for the general public go on sale on August 3, 2022.
Event participants will receive a Fall 2022 Road Ramble Packet including a Road Ramble Tour Booklet, a navigator guide, a narrative CD or USB, a Berks History Center Fall 2022 Road Ramble Participant bumper sticker, and more!

Additionally, packets can be picked up on the day of the Fall 2022 Road Ramble (Saturday, Oct. 22nd) from 9:30 am to noon, at the event’s starting location (Leesport Fire Company Social Hall, 11 S.
