FRIDAY at 8 - Hear Berks-born tenor JOSH KOHL at Albright

1- Wyomissing grad JOSH KOHL will appear at Albright this
coming Friday. He's been featured in concerts across the country
with great success.

An email just received from Attorney Carl Perlston of Los Angeles
informs us that Josh was part of a 4-person concert of old-time
musicals that drew rave reviews. Josh was singled out for his
splendid vocal renditions.

Be aware that seating for Friday's performance is reserved. Some
good seats remain. Those interested are urged to get their
tickets now. Be on hand to show Josh his hometown folks wish
him well and support his career.










SATURDAY afternoon - OPENING of the BEER & PRETZELS exhibition - Starts at noon

As noted in an earlier News-Bits dispatch, the opening of
the Beer& Pretzel exhibition will be like no other in our
history.

The accompanying promotional illustration doesn't tell the
whole story of what those attending might expect to find at
our opening. There will be surprises.

In regard to basics, you'll find the collection of photos,
signage (including "live" neon), and memorabilia ASTOUNDING.









SUNDAY afternoon, starting at 1 p.m. - Release and autographing of VOLUME 15

3- PASSING SCENE--VOLUME 15 will be available for purchase
and having it autographed beginning this SUNDAY, Dec. 2nd



Distribution and autographing SUNDAY will be from 1 to 4 p.m.

The next autographing session will be Saturday, Dec. 8th,
from 9:30 to noon.....and from 1 to 4 p.m.



For those who simply wish to pick up the books and leave,
copies of Volume 15 (and 13) may be obtained this Sunday and
anytime during regular Society hours (9 to 4), beginning on
Tuesday, Dec. 4th.






Later SUNDAY afternoon and early evening---Schwarzwald's annual Christmas dinner

4- Schwarzwald U.C.C. (Reformed) Church at Jacksonwald continues
a long-established tradition by hosting its annual Christmas
Dinner and bazaar.

As those who've attended the dinner in years past can vouch, the
food is plentiful and first rate.






ONCE UPON A TIME IN BERKS COUNTY by Charles J. Adams, III and GMMIX

5- Popular radio personality and Society Trustee Charles J.
Adams, III recently edited an 88-page softbound book based
on illustrations and news reports that appeared in old-time
READING EAGLE newspapers.

Your News-Bits editor added his two cents and annotating
Charlie's annotations!

This unusual and appealing publication was produced with the
cooperation of the Reading Eagle Co., which printed the book.




"Once Upon a Time in Berks County" is available presently...
and may also be purchased this Sunday.

Price is $14.95, plus tax.





Reading Pops Orchestra--Sunday, Dec. 16th at 4 p.m. at Conrad Weiser H.S.

6- You are invited to a Christmas Vesper Service featuring
the Reading Pops Orchestra and guest soloist, Katherine
Aregood-Crusi, on Sunday, December 16, 2007, at 4 PM at the Conrad
Weiser High School Auditorium in Robesonia.

Pre-Service music features the St. Daniel's Handbell Choirs.
