Efforts are being made to correct the difficulty. ================ =============== ============= ================ =============== ============= 1- TODAY (Sat., Nov. 11) - My Great-Grandparents' House - FREE 2- TODAY (Sat., Nov. 11) - Embroiderers' Guild of Am. exhibit at Hedel 3- SUN., Nov. 12 at 2 - Berks County Ass'n for Graveyard Preservation 4- TUES., Nov 13 - 1:30 at Society--"Gruber Wagon Works" free program 5- THURS., Nov. 16 - Meeting of the Berks Postcard Club at Fleetwood 6- Holiday Boutique at Hendel House--Sun., Dec. 10th - 1 to 6 7- New things in the Society's giftshop....and the on-line giftshop =========== ============= ============== ============= =========== ============= ============== ============= 1- TODAY from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the annual, very popular "My Great-Grandparents' House" happening in the Connor Auditorium at the Society. IT'S ALL FREE! While geared for youngsters from 3 to 12 years, it's open to all Come to decorate Baby Cake cookies, churn butter, mix goldfish crackers....weave a rag rug....construct cup and ball toys....play out marionette shows, etc. Victorian highwheelers, members of The Wheelmen, will also be present to ride high-wheel bicycles. =============== ============= =========== ========= 2- TODAY, the Berks County Chapter of Embroiderers' Guild of America is holding its Biannial Exhibit at our Hendel House.... Centre Ave. at Douglass, opposite Centre Park. 10 to 4 p.m. $3 entrance fee to cover expenses. This exhibit is genuinely impressive! =============== ============== =========== ======== 3- Tues., Nov. 13 at 1:30 there will be a free talk on "Gruber Wagon Works" by Carol J. Hunsberger, author of a splendid book on that subject. Open to all, members and non-members alike. =============== ============== =========== ======== 4- Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation Meeting SUNDAY, November 12th at 2 PM Oley Valley American Legion Building, DeTurk Road, Oley Slides of graveyards and preservation projects will be shown. ALL are invited. Plenty of parking on the adjacent lot. =============== ============ ============= ======== 5- This coming Thursday, Nov. 16, the Berks Postcard Club will be meeting at the Fleetwood Historical Society--110 W. Arch St., in the old high school bldg. Dennis Becker, president - 610 - 944 - 9983 =============== ============= ============== ===== 6- HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE at Hendel House (746 Centre Ave.) SUNDAY, December 10 Quality Handmade Gifts and Unique Treasures in all price ranges Open to the public. Free admission. 1 to 6 p.m. This is in conjunction with the Centre Park Historic District's HOLIDAY TOUR of elaborately decorated historic homes. ================ ========== ============== ======== 7- The Museum/Gift Shop at Society headquarters, 940 Centre Ave., will also be open from 1 to 6 p.m. on SUNDAY, December 10th.....in conjunction with the Centre Park Historic District's Holiday / Christmas TOUR. Many new items have been added for the season, including newly published local histories. Also, there'll be a fresh supply of pre-owned local histories and lots of books for children.
