1- Tonight is the Society's monthly BCTV program. Our
guest is Kathryn Lesieur who will show views of Berks
County samplers, many of which were produced by
girls who learned the art as part of their 19th century
schooling.

This program repeats this coming Friday night at 10 pm,
Saturday at 6 pm, and Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Those not wired to BCTV can watch the program on the
Internet. Access...

2- Kathryn Lesieur, the Society's guest curator for the
BERKS COUNTY SAMPLER exhibit, will present the
FIRST THURSDAY program tomorrow (Thurs., May 4)
at 9 a.m.

Ms. Lesieur is particularly well informed on the subject
of Berks samplers. Your editor heard one of Ms. Lesieur's
presentations and was somewhat surprised to learn how
much can be learned about the time and place of sampler
preparation by the designs found upon them.

Most designs are representative and characteristic of
a particular place. Some designs are "Quaker" and some
are "German," etc.

This program is open to all.
A light breakfast is provided at 8:30 a.m.
The program starts at 9 a.m.

Members: $1
Visitors: $2
