Part of “The Outer Station Project”, and for the 175th anniversary of the beginning of the Reading Railroad, this book contains images with captions of the Reading Railroad, the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Penn Central Railroad, and the Reading Street Railway in the areas around the city of Reading and Berks County.

This 88 page hard cover book has over 200 wood carving pictured in color. It accompanied a 1991 exhibit of one of the major collections. Includes the works of Schimmel, Mountz and many other fine carvers, some known, sone not known.

A history of trains and trolleys in the Reading, Pennsylvania area with pictures provided by the Historical Society of Berks County.

The perennially popular history of the Reading Volunteer Fire Department history book, compiled and written by the Federal Writers' Project of the W.P.A. in 1938. The volume has some 260 pages and measures about 6 by nine inches. Each of the companies that existed as individual entities in 1938 is detailed with a rather complete history, based on each company's minute books. There are numerous, fine illustrations.
