  The World War I & Berks project is a year-long commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of World War I that examines Berks County’s contributions to the Great War and the effects the war had on our local community. The World War I & Berks exhibit, located in the Berks History Center’s Palmer Gallery, tells how Reading and Berks County responded to the nation’s call to arms through a remarkable eagerness to serve and unwavering patriotism. A Hike Through History

Explore the historical treasures of Mt. Penn with a guided hiking tour led by Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club adventurist Paul Schumann and Pagoda-Skyline historian Corrie Crupi. Reservations and hiking experience required. Call 610-375-4375 for reservations and more information. ***Hike begins at the William Penn Fire Tower. Meet at 12:45PM, the hike will begin promptly at 1PM.

Homeschool Day at the Museum

Discover your Berks history at the Berks History Center Museum with special guided tours & student activities. Cost: $10 per combined parent and student with additional children costing $3.00/child. Cost includes a guided tour (given on the hour) and hands-on activities. Reservations are required. Enjoy a basket weaving activity (includes instructions and materials) and take home your own handmade basket for an additional $5 per person. Children 3 and under free.
