Conrad Weiser & the Path to Terrorism in Berks County

October 14, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Was Conrad Weiser a friend or foe to the Lenape natives? His is a remarkable story of a talented, energetic and courageous German immigrant serving his community, the Province of Pennsylvania and the Six Nations of the Iroquois — at the expense of the Lenape — in the middle of territorial clashes and cultural differences. Explore this compelling question in a presentation by Historian Barry Miller as he examines Weiser’s role in the complex contest for land and the cultural dominance during the French and Indian War in Berks County.
