Carsonia Park

Carsonia Park operated in Lower Alsace Township from 1896 to 1950. The park was constructed by the United Traction Company as a destination for its trolley service. Over the course of its existence Carsonia Park featured many rides and attractions. The roller coasters Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt, The Airplane Ride, Dodgem Cars, Strato Ship, Castle of Mirth, The Pretzel, Shoot the Shoot, Cuddle Up, and a ferris wheel are just a few examples of what the park offered.

Crystal Palace and Crystal Lake Crystal Lake and the Crystal Palace. Crystal Lake covered 10 1/2 acres and was about 3 feet deep.
Crystal Palace The Crystal Palace had a 15,000 square foot dance floor. The building was destroyed by fire in August 1968. (image from post card)
The Little Train The Little Train. For 5¢ you could take a 1900 ft. ride.
The Casino The Casino, decorated for the opening of the 1923 season.
Thunderbolt The Thunderbolt and the Pretzel, late 1940's.
