Schuylkill Canal - Aqueducts

When the path of the Schuylkill Canal bisected a creek it was necessary to build an aqueduct to carry
the canal over the creek. Pictured here are five of the seven stone aqueducts still standing in Berks County.

The Unionville Aqueduct in Union Township carried the canal over Cold Spring

The Indian Corn Creek Aqueduct at Robeson Crossing, west of Birdsboro.

Seidel Creek Aqueduct in Gibraltar

The Allegeheny Aqueduct in Gibraltar carried the Schuylkill Canal over the Allegeheny Creek.
